Maintenance

Maintenance is very important in almost all construction structures and their are experts available who suggest the long lasting maintenance procedure and increases life of structure.
   Maintenance are of four types:
1) Preventive maintenance.
2) Routine maintenance.
3) Remedial maintenance.
4) Special maintenance.

          Preventive maintenance is done when their is no defect on in otherwords preventive maintenance is done before any defect occurs in structure. It includes thorough inspection and consultation by a team of experts, planning the procedure of maintenance and finally executing the work for preventive maintenance.
          Routine maintenance is the service maintenance attended to the structure periodically and thus can also be called as periodic maintenance. Workdone and interval of time at which it is done depends upon specification and materials of structure, purpose, intensity and condition of use. It includes parch repair, replacement of fittings and fixtures, white washing, etc.
         Remedial maintenance is done after defects or damage occured to structure. It involves;
A) Finding the deterioration.
B) Determining the causes.
          Special maintenance is the work done under special condition and requires sanction and performed to rectify heavy damage. It may also be done for strengthening and updating of the structure to meet the new condition of usage or to increasr its serviceability
